Medical Coder

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coding specialist determined CPT and ICD-9 codes for all outpatients and ED encounters, ensure that all coding assignments are accurate and coded according to policy.
  • Coding and coding auditing services directly to providers. This includes the analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes.
  • High school education or GED is required
  • 2+ years ICD-9 & CPT coding experience is required
  • Certified coder - RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CCS-H, CPC or other national certification is required.
  • 2+ years experience in outpatient coding is required
  • Emergency Department coding is strongly desired.
